What works for one person with ADHD may not work for another person with ADHD. As someone who has a chronic autoimmune disease and lives with chronic pain (ankylosing spondylitis and fibromyalgia if you’re curious), I have a deep understanding of the struggles that come with living with chronic pain. We have a unique way of living in the world and a different relationship with our bodies that some abled bodied people may not fully understand. There is a combination of grief, anxiety, internalized ableism, guilt, loneliness, depression, betrayal trauma, medical trauma- and so much more that can occur in a variety of ways. Just like a pain flare, they can even crop up unexpectedly when everything was fine the day before. If you have a chronic health condition, we can work through those hard feelings and the emotional pain that come up in different ways together.

Anxiety does not care about our happiness, it only wants to keep us safe- no matter the cost. There are different kinds of anxiety that can be triggered by different things and be felt with varying severities. There’s general anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorders, specific phobias, agoraphobia, separation anxiety, and selective mutism. Even if you don’t have a formal diagnosis and just feel anxious all the time, stressed, overwhelmed, have difficulty with life transitions or anything in between. We can work together to decrease and manage the mental and physical symptoms of anxiety by identifying anxiety triggers and patterns, and finding healthy coping skills to decrease the frequency and intensity of those feelings.

Depression and anxiety often co-exist as the worst best friends. Like anxiety, depression can be experienced with a varying level of severity. You don’t need to play the trauma olympics and invalidate your feelings of depression because other people have it worse. Sometimes depression is very intense and there’s feelings of hopelessness, low self esteem or low self worth, feeling isolated, wanting to stay in bed all day, feeling unworthy, feeling like a burden, not wanting to engage in things you once enjoyed, not being motivated, or experiencing thoughts of suicide. Those feelings can also be present in a mild form and can also feel like being burnt out, feeling fatigued, feeling down, feeling blue, or feeling stuck. These problems and feelings don’t care how good your life may look to someone else. It can happen to anyone. We can work together to decrease these feelings and reconnect you with your joy.
Don’t have any of those formal diagnoses or identify with those experiences? That’s okay. I also provide mental health counseling services to people experiencing the following:

FAQ’s about Individual Therapy Cost
-
The private pay cost of individual therapy sessions is $150. These sessions are 53 minutes long. I do have an income based sliding scale available upon request.
-
I am currently in-network with Aetna and Quest Behavioral Health. I can also provide superbills for potential out of network insurance benefits.
-
Income based sliding scale is a reduced price dependent on your salary. It is something we can discuss further in your consultation to see if we can find a price that fits your budget.
-
I accept credit cards, debit cards, and HSA cards.
-
Payment is due at the time of your session. If the card on file is declined for whatever reason, I will let you know. If this does happen, in order to avoid a balance no future therapy sessions can take place until the current session is paid for.
-
If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, you need to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice. Any notice less than that will be considered a late cancellation. If you are more than 15 minutes late to session without notice you will be considered a ‘no-show’. If either of these scenarios happen, you will be charged the following:
Private Pay/Out of Pocket: The full fee of your session. If you are full fee, this will be $150. If you are using sliding scale, it will be your sliding scale cost of session.
Using In-Network Insurance: $100
