My Approach to Virtual Depression Therapy
Depending on how your depression is showing up and its severity, in our sessions to treat your feelings of depression I’ll use a blend of Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Existential Therapy to help decrease your symptoms of depression.
Depression and anxiety often co-exist as the worst kind of best friends. Like anxiety, depression can be experienced with a varying level of severity. You don’t need to play the trauma olympics and invalidate your feelings of depression because other people have it worse. Sometimes depression is very intense, other times it’s low and constant. Depression doesn’t care how good your life may look to someone else. It can happen to anyone. We can work together to decrease these feelings and reconnect you with your joy.

When it comes to mental health wellness, there is no end point of being “fixed” for good. It’s a daily practice. My job is to help you foster independence to deal with the challenging parts of life, and be here when you need help. It’s okay to be in therapy for a long time, or a short time.
